Happy Small Business Saturday! Living in Southern Maine, I’m surrounded by so many incredible local small businesses from restaurants to shops to farms to local services and everything in between. We’re not lacking in local businesses. So I thought I’d share some of my favorites for you all to check out this holiday season. And keep in mind, that it doesn’t have to be Small Business Saturday for you to support them. You can support small businesses 365 days a year.
Of course, a great way to support local would be to make purchases whether it’s a meal, a service, a product, gift cards for others, etc., but we also know this isn’t always in everyone’s budgets. Especially during the busy holiday season. If you can’t shop local, then take the time to recommend businesses to friends and family. Interact with business’ social media posts and share them with your own followers. With the social media algorithms these days, even something as simple as ‘liking’ a post, commenting on a post, sharing, clicking the ‘follow’ or ‘subscribe’ button can help so much!
Some of My Favorites:
Autumn Bellefleur, Brunswick, ME – The only person I allow to touch my hair! She’s currently located at Studio 17 in Brunswick, ME and I obviously highly recommend her. She books fast, though so be sure to book as far in advance as you can!
Beech Ridge Farm, Scarborough, ME – Veteran-owned Christmas tree farm in Southern Maine. Great place to get your tree this year!
Benoits Design Co., Westbrook, ME – This shop has a little bit of everything: clothing, drink ware, gifts, wall art, home decor, and more!
Bite Into Maine, Greater Portland, ME area – A lobster roll food truck with one of my favorite lobster rolls in Southern Maine.
Buoy Coast, Peaks Island, ME – Located on Peaks Island, Buoy Coast has great Maine souvenirs as well as clothing and accessories inspired by coastal Maine.
Catalyst for Change, Biddeford, ME – Great clothing where every sale donates to AFSP Maine and Maine Children’s Cancer Program!
CrateFull of Maine – An easy and fun way to discover some of the best local products made in Maine.
Gert & Co. – Fun Maine-inspired stationary and signs. This shop is super cute!
Little, Portland, ME – This shop is located on Exchange Street in the Old Port and has adorable baby and kids’ clothes.
Mad Gabs, Yarmouth, ME – Woman-owned natural body care. I worked with them a few years ago and really loved their products!

Nine Stones Spa, Portland, ME –
North Country Rivers, Bingham, ME – Super fun white water rafting experiences up in the Forks! Buy someone a gift card or shop their apparel and accessories online.
Portland Lobster Co. – Another lobster roll fave. This restaurant is located right on the water and has a whole coastal Maine vibe in the summer months. They’re closed for the season but gift cards are always available!
Portland Paddle, Portland, ME – Gift a loved one a paddle boarding or kayaking experience on Casco Bay. They even have overnight excursions!
Reve Cycling Studio, Portland, ME
Sea Bags, Portland, ME
Smiling Hill Farm, Westbrook, ME – This is a gorgeous farm and petting zoo that we love visiting in the summer months. Through the rest of the year, you can support by purchasing their various milks (which can be found in local grocery stores and are super delicious!).
Wine Wise Events – All things wine. They host events, host private events, and even deliver wine to your doorstep!
