Our Story
Hi, I’m Keating — a Child & Family Advocate, former educator, a mom of two girls, and the founder of Moms for Maine, a resource and advocacy network dedicated to empowering Maine moms through trusted information, meaningful resources, and opportunities for advocacy and engagement.
I’m a Child & Family Advocate, former educator, mom of two girls, and the founder of Moms for Maine, a resource and advocacy network dedicated to empowering Maine moms through trusted information, meaningful resources, and opportunities for advocacy and engagement.
My professional roots are in special education and behavioral health, where I spent nearly a decade supporting children and families as a behavior specialist, educator, and case manager. During those years, I sat alongside families navigating school systems, service waitlists, behavioral health challenges, and the often overwhelming process of finding the support their children needed. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for both the strengths of our communities and the barriers that too many Maine families still face.
Today, I serve as a Family Advocate and will graduate as a Maine State Parent Ambassador in July, helping connect families to resources, elevate parent voices, and encourage meaningful community engagement. Through this work, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful informed and engaged parents can be—and how much stronger our communities become when families have access to the information and support they need.
Moms for Maine grew from that belief. What started as a family resource platform has evolved into a space where Maine moms can find trusted information, learn about issues affecting their families, discover local resources, and feel empowered to advocate for themselves, their children, and their communities. My goal isn’t to tell parents what to think—it’s to help them feel informed, connected, and confident enough to make their own decisions and make their voices heard.
My commitment to Maine families has inspired me to pursue law school, where I hope to deepen my understanding of policy and systems change and continue serving children and families in new ways. Outside of my advocacy work, I enjoy running, exploring Maine with my daughters, and staying active in our community.

Issues that matter to us. . .
Strong Public Schools & Educational Excellence
Every child deserves access to a safe, inclusive, and high-quality public education. We support fully funded schools, evidence-based curriculum, strong literacy and math outcomes, and the resources educators need to help students succeed.
Early Childhood Access & Affordability
Access to affordable, high-quality childcare is essential for children, families, and Maine’s workforce. We support investments in early childhood programs, increased wages for childcare professionals, expanded access to care across the state, and policies that move Maine closer to universal childcare for all families.
Disability Services & Inclusive Supports
Maine families deserve timely access to the services and supports their children need to thrive. We support stronger special education systems, reduced waitlists, expanded therapy services, and equitable access to disability-related resources and supports.
Healthcare & Family Wellbeing
Every family deserves access to affordable healthcare and the support services they need to thrive. We advocate for expanded access to healthcare, behavioral health services, and mental health supports, while supporting policies that move Maine toward universal healthcare and reduce financial barriers to care.
Parent Voice & Civic Engagement
Parents should have a meaningful voice in the decisions that impact their children and communities. We work to empower parents with the information, tools, and opportunities they need to engage, advocate, and lead.
Family Economic Security
Strong families require economic stability. We support policies and programs that help families meet their basic needs, maintain financial security, and access opportunities that allow them to thrive.
The Team
While there isn’t an official team (yet!), Moms for Maine thrives because of the parents, advocates, educators, and community members who believe in this mission. If you’d like to volunteer, collaborate, or contribute your skills, please reach out to us at keating.bartlett@mainelyparents.com.
